Project

jiwa

We are dedicated to preserving cultural arts in Indonesia through creative digital collaboration that is relevant and accessible to the next generation.

Have you ever seen a traditional dance or heard a folk song from long ago? Were you transported to another time and place in that moment? Jiwa is the Indonesian word for soul and spirit. It is the life spark.

Traditional Arts are steeped in Jiwa. They have survived generations of change and cultural evolution, and yet they still hold important stories and lessons for their own cultures and others as well.

PROJECT JIWA has one simple mission; preserve the life spark of these old traditions by fusing them with new and relevant art in creative ways.

JB FAM FUND produces one PROJECT per year that will showcase a form of traditional art, whether it be dance, music, or visual arts, in tasteful collaboration with a complimentary modern art. Our first project will feature Javanese artists, and will be produced in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
